BREED SPECIFIC MINI SCARVES
a new initiative to spark more encounters, discoveries and discussions about native British wool and the sheep that grow it.
Each new breed added to the series brings an opportunity to learn about their unique fibre qualities, the landscape it comes from, the process of turning fibre to yarn and how all of these things define the knitting of the finished scarf.
#1 - SHETLAND
The Shetland is an ancient, highly adaptable breed that grows a fine, crimped (wavy) fibre in a variety of colours, ranging from creamy white, through shades of browns and greys to almost black. Traditionally associated with patterned knitwear and fine lace, this hardy breed is soft but resilient, perfect for showcasing graphics and pattern for this collection.
